Are there any accessories to purchase with the SKYWATCH GPS unit?
No. The unit is all you need to get up and running.
Service
Are there any monthly service fees?
No. There are no monthly service fees when you subscribe to SKYWATCH GPS’ coverage.
Once I run out of free Locates, can I buy more?
Yes. Simply login to your account and click “Purchase Locates” for a list of available Locates packages.
What is the warranty for the SKYWATCH GPS unit?
Each SKYWATCH GPS unit is covered with a one-year parts and labor warranty.

System Operation
How does SKYWATCH GPS work? Is it always on?
SKYWATCH GPS utilizes best-of-breed GPS satellite technology, coupled with an advanced cellular network to operate in conjunction with your vehicle’s electrical system. The SKYWATCH GPS unit is powered by your vehicle’s battery. Certain models also have internal backup batteries
should your vehicle's battery fail. Please check with
your dealer for specifics.
SKYWATCH GPS is always in the receiving mode, ready to respond to a command from you. To locate your vehicle simply click on "My GPS Tracking", type in your unique login name and password, click the “Locate Now” button from the Current Location page. This will send an immediate locate request to the vehicle.
What is the SKYWATCH GPS coverage area?
SKYWATCH GPS units utilize a nationwide GSM network,
which provides coverage in most of
the contiguous U.S. and major metropolitan areas and
roadways in Canada and Mexico.
Website Operation
How do I access my account on the SKYWATCH GPS Website?
When you are at the dealership they will setup your online account, including a temporary login and password to access the site. You should access the site as soon as possible to personalize your login and password for security purposes. You can also update any personal profile information.
What if I forgot my login and password?
Click the “forgot password” icon on the login page. It will ask you for the email address you used when you registered your account information. Simply provide that information and click “send” and your account access information will be sent to that email address.

What will I see when I'm tracking my vehicle?
The Skywatch GPS tracking system gives you three distinct views to choose from.

How do I use the SKYWATCH GPS Website to locate my vehicle?
Login under your unique login and password and press the “Locate” button on the Web page. In a matter of moments, the system will locate your vehicle anywhere on land or on water.
Why did the Locate feature not pinpoint my vehicle’s exact location?
GPS satellites use a triangulation system, utilizing multiple satellites to get an exact position. If your vehicle is in an area that partially blocks one or more of those satellites, (such as underground or next to a steep hill) the system will locate it within a few hundred yards of its actual location.
I clicked the Locate button, and after searching, it did not provide a new position for my vehicle. Occasionally, atmospheric or environmental conditions can interfere with the locating process. We recommend waiting 30 minutes before trying this feature again.
Enabling or Disabling Your Vehicle
How do I disable my vehicle?
If you receive a theft notification message, you can send a signal to the vehicle to disable the ignition and prevent the engine from starting. The vehicle will not be disabled while in motion. To perform this function, simply login and click “Disable Vehicle” from the "Current Location" page.
Will the Disable function cause any damage to the vehicle?
No. The vehicle suffers no damage when disabled.
Do I need to have my vehicle’s transmission in the “Park” position in order for the Disable feature to work?
No. You can disable your vehicle while in motion. However, for safety reasons, the disable feature will not take effect until the vehicle’s engine is shut down.
How do I enable my vehicle?
Simply login and click the “Enable Vehicle” button from the Current Location page.
Theft and Recovery
How will I know if my vehicle has been stolen?
The dealership will connect the SKYWATCH GPS unit to the anti-theft system in your vehicle during installation. Once installed, you can receive notification on any designated email-enabled device. You have up to two email addresses available for notification delivery. If you prefer, the first address can be your wireless phone, (via text message), and the second your regular email address.
How do I send an email to my cell phone?
If your phone is SMS capable, simply enter your phone's email address to receive notification that your anti-theft system activation. For a list of email naming conventions by carrier click here.
What should I do if my vehicle is stolen?
After receiving a theft notification, click on "My GPS Tracking" to locate and disable your vehicle. You should then immediately notify local law enforcement and provide the location information to guide police to the missing vehicle.
How long does it take to receive notification?
Depending on the speed of your Internet connection or your wireless phone coverage, it may take only a few seconds to receive a notification email once the vehicle’s alarm system activates the GPS Tracking System unit.
Privacy
Will anyone know that I have this system just by looking at the vehicle?
No. All SKYWATCH GPS components are discreetly installed within the inner workings of the vehicle.
Can anyone look up the location of my vehicle?
No. Only you have access to your account via your login and password. While we strongly advise you not to share your account access information, we understand that it may be necessary to give the local law enforcement access if your vehicle is stolen. If this occurs, please reset your login and password as soon as possible to maximize security.
GPS Urban Legends
Will the GPS locator service work if the vehicle is parked in an enclosed building such as a garage or service bay?
Yes. The unit reads the locations of the GPS satellites every 3-4 seconds and records them into its memory. Then, if you need to locate your vehicle, it will provide its last known location (just before entering a parking garage, for instance) in a worst-case scenario.
What if someone places a piece of metal over the GPS antenna?
Since SKYWATCH GPS units are discreetly installed within the inner workings of the vehicle no antennae are exposed.
